Dear [subscriber:firstname | default:reader]
Thank you Suzanne for last week's Sunday worship, and this week we welcome The Reverend Brian Griffiths to lead the service on video. Many of you will remember him from last summer when he was here as locum; this year he can't be with us in person but we are delighted that he agreed to prepare the service for this Sunday.

Video services on 9 and 16 August

There are two more Sunday morning services on video only, on 9 and 16 August before we hope that the church will reopen on 23 August.
There is a direct link from the home page of the website which is posted every week on Saturday evening.
Church services start again on 23 August, you'll still need to reserve a place. Here's the link for you to do that.
Video services will continue in parallel, so that everybody can share in worship even if they can't attend the church in person.

Every year, some students arrive in Lille without basic supplies, and we would like to help these under-resourced students get off to a good start.
If you have any basic living items (bedding, curtains, towels, kitchen utensils etc) that are in good and clean condition, and you are prepared to give away for free, please contact Maggie at churchoffice@christchurchlille.fr or visit our church website for more information and to find out how our Student Online Market Place works. Please DO NOT bring your items to church.
You don't need cash

We are keeping a very close eye on the cost of running Christ Church Lille at the moment. Although we have kept expenses down, normal running costs continue. Thank you to everyone who gives to sustain the life, mission and ministry of this church. Your gifts are very much welcomed.
It means we can carry on. Full details of all the ways to give are on our Giving page. (you can use the QR code for fast access to the page) Thank you!

For your diary

  • Instead of an actual braderie café, you'll soon be able to purchase a "virtual" cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake, instead of the real thing - more details soon.
  • "Journées du Patrimoine" (Heritage Days) on Saturday afternoon 19 September. If you can volunteer that afternoon, let us know.
  • Our AGM will be held on 27 September after the morning service. If you're interested in standing for office, please get in touch.

Reader's corner

A reader has asked for book recommendations - what are you reading at the moment? If you're happy to share, send a message to newsletter@christchurchlille.fr and we'll post details next week.
