Dear [subscriber:firstname | default:reader]
This Sunday 14 July is the French National Day. In English-Speaking countries it is often called Bastille Day, as it commemorates the storming of the Bastille in 1789 and the Fête de la Féderation one year later. Enjoy the celebrations!

The church calendar is on our website, and all the services and readings are shown there. Also on the calendar are major works and the events taking place.
The drop-in café is closed next week (17 July) because of works; open again on 24 and 31 July before closing for the summer break.

Last Sunday we said goodbye to Didier and Régine, as they prepare to move to Guadeloupe. We wish them every happiness in their new home.
Don't forget that for full details of forthcoming events, it's easy to consult this page on our website.

Braderie planning

Have you signed up to help yet? Please volunteer for at least one 2-hour slot on Saturday and/or Sunday 31 August- 1 September.
At the moment, we are particularly short of helpers behind the scenes; we need you!
Contact braderie@christchurchlille.fr to volunteer.

The next Men's Group meeting
is on 20 July: breakfast at 10 am.
Please let Tom know if you're coming so he can organise the catering

Services in July and August

See our website for full details of changes to our regular schedule. But there will always be a service at 10:30 during July and August.
If you are staying in Lille this summer, please note that line 2 of the metro (in red below) will be disrupted while they modernise some of the guide rails. A bus will replace the metro between these stations:
27 - 30 July: between Porte des Postes and Gare Lille Flandres
3 - 20 August: between Saint Philibert and Porte des Postes.
