Christ Church Lille Newsletter 30 June 2023

Summer is here, school is about to finish and some of you are looking forward to a more restful time. But our Sunday services continue every week, and at the moment, we are planning for the Rentrée! Yes, we need to organise our stall at the Braderie, so read on to find out how you can help.
Sunday 2 July 10:30: A service of Holy Communion
It's the fourth Sunday after Trinity
Pierre Cecchin
Sadly, we learnt this week of the death of Pierre Cecchin. While he and his wife Pauline lived in Lille they were faithful and active members of Christ Church and Pierre spent a lot of time and energy looking after the building and making sure everything worked properly. His hand-written explanations for the fire alarm are still to be seen and still in use. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

In this week's newsletter

  • Children's activity sheet
  • A message from King Charles
  • For your diary
  • Braderie de Lille
  • Generous Living
  • Prayers for Ukraine
  • How you can help
Here's the link to this week's children's activity sheet: Welcome!

Matthew 10:40-42

We have received a thank you message from King Charles

We sent our condolences and all the messages to King Charles when HM Queen Elizabeth II died last September and were delighted to receive a card from the palace.
" It was so very kind of you to send me such a wonderful generous message following the death of my beloved mother. Your most thoughtful words are enormously comforting and I cannot tell you how deeply they are appreciated at this time of immense sorrow."

For your diary

See more below.
For more information on events and activities, please contact churchoffice@christchurchlille.fr.

Braderie de Lille

It's a major fund-raising event for us, so really important that we give 100% effort. There are two ways to help: by donating items for sale (in good condition please) and by volunteering a couple of hours of your time over the weekend.
All the details are on this page on our website but. you can start now by bringing your contributions to church or by signing up on line.

Generous Living

There is still time to bring back your Generous Living leaflet to church. If you didn't receive one, you can find it on our website at this link.
Thank you! (Don't hesitate to ask the chaplain if you are not sure).

Prayers for Ukraine

Please remember to pray for all affected by this conflict.
We are entirely self-funded and we have cut back our expenses as much as possible; but we still need a regular income.
We're grateful to everyone who continues to support the church and its work, which goes beyond weekly services.
