The brothers were evangelists and hymn-writers, and were hugely influential in the 18th century. The hymns they wrote remain an important part of Christian worship to this day.

The Church of England celebrates their life and work on 24 May, so we will be singing two of their hymns on Sunday. But even if you can't be with us, you can enjoy singing along with two their most famous on video.

It's an Important date in our calendar, because the church was consecrated on Ascension Day in 1870.
|
|
Next time you are in church turn round and look at the wonderful Ascension Day window over the main entrance.
|
|
Also known as Whit Sunday, it celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit on Jesus' disciples, it is held on the 7th Sunday after Easter.

We will be manning a bric-a-brac stall at the Braderie de Lille this year so please start looking out items in good condition for us (clothes, toys, kitchenware, decorative items etc, but no books or electrical goods please)
