Christ Church Lille Newsletter

The website Bible Gateway enables you to see any of the readings on line, and in any of 50 languages. In church, we use the NIV (UK) version.
No 9:15 or 18:30 services until September. See the calendar here.
On Sunday 19 August please welcome the Reverend Edrick Corban-Banks
"I’m married to Clare who is a professional violist and music teacher; we have 6 children, the youngest is still at college. I originally trained as a classical guitarist both in New Zealand and Spain and had a reasonably successful career as a soloist but felt a strong call to the ordained ministry and I retrained at St Johns Theological college. I’m currently Rector Christ Church, Longford (in Tasmania, Australia) but with retiring I am staying on in a non-stipendiary position.

"I have ministered in Spain and Ibiza as well as in New Zealand and Australia. Before arriving in Lille, I will be in Valencia to receive an award for “services to paella” – I am passionate about Spanish food and paella in particular, and I am honoured to be on the official judging panel for Valencia, and to be an official Paella Ambassador to the Pacific.

I am really looking forward to being part of the Lille community for a couple of weeks,"
Edrick Corban-Banks
Can anyone help with the last stages of work in the church hall, tomorrow Saturday 18 August between 9:30 and 17:30? Please get in touch if you have a couple of hours to spare.
We need your help for the Braderie, please sign up for at least one 2-hour slot and/or to make cakes too.
Are you baking for the Braderie? Please remember to wrap carefully to exclude all air, seal and label. We need the type of cake and a list of ingredients on the label please.
