A computer glitch sent this newsletter out on Tuesday in error. With apologies, here is your usual Friday edition, with a couple of additions.

The website Bible Gateway enables you to see any of the readings on line, and in any of 50 languages. In church, we use the NIV (UK) version.
|
There will be a service at 10:30 am every Sunday from now until the end of August - no 9:15 or 18:30 services until September. See the calendar here.

On Sunday 12 August the Reverend Sheila Hughes will take the service. Please extend a warm welcome to her and her family on their first visit to Christ Church.

"My main ministry has been Evangelism and Mission mostly within Through Faith Missions (TFM) throughout the UK, Jersey, Isle of Man and Kenya. I was ordained in 2006 and was a curate and part of the ministry team in St Thomas with St Lawrence, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. I am married to John, have four married children and eight grandchildren."

Kelly and Mary Festus are bringing their two youngest children, Favour and Kevin, to church on August 12th for a Dedication Ceremony. This will take place during the 10:30 service of Holy Communion. Please pray for the children and their parents on this special occasion.

|
|
|
Are you busy baking for the Braderie? It's a bit hot, but as soon as it cools down a little, we need all your home baking. The freezer is plugged in and waiting, so you can bring baked goods along from now on (please speak to Frances for more information).
|
|
|
|
We're hoping to finish off the kitchen wall in the church hall next week - please let Frances or Bruno know if you have some free time on Sarurday 18 August.
