The last Sunday after Trinity
A service of Holy Communion led by the Reverend Elisabeth Dean
Sunday morning's Gospel reading is from Luke. He says:
"For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 18:14

The clocks go back overnight and you get an extra hour in the morning.
If you forget the time change, and arrive an hour early for the service, why not:
- spend an hour in quiet prayer
- do some dusting
- tidy and fold the blankets
- clean the loos
- sweep up the leaves outside
- offer to help in any way
We're always looking for volunteers to help with day to day maintenance and cleaning. If not on Sunday, contact one of the church officers and offer to come at another time, we'd be very grateful for your help.

Every year, we remember veterans and their families and all those who suffered in war. We support the charities who support them by buying a poppy, and there will be poppies available in church from Sunday 26 October until Sunday 9 November.

Bishop Robert also reflects on the Church’s ongoing discussions on Living in Love and Faith and encourages us all to remain gentle and prayerful as we continue learning from one another.

Thank you to everyone who supports Christ Church Lille, in whatever way. Of course, bills have to be paid, so regular contributions are vital, but we also value your help in the life of the church. Your support is especially valued during this time of interregnum (in other words, while we don't have a permanent chaplain). And sincere thanks go to the Reverend Elisabeth Dean for travelling up from Paris most Sundays, rain or shine.
So please continue your giving, and your volunteering, it is much appreciated.
