The Feast of Christ the King
As we get ready for Advent and Christmas, it's a day when we consider Jesus Christ as King of Heaven and of Earth.
|

|
It's also the Sunday before Advent, and used to be known as "Stir-up Sunday" Collect for this Sunday in the Book of Common Prayer begins "Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful people ..."
|
|
This became associated with the UK tradition of mixing the Christmas pudding, which needs to be made in advance and left to mature.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Not many people make their own Christmas pudding these days, but read to the end of the newsletter for a recipe for Christmas biscuits that are easy to make and that everyone can enjoy.
