This Sunday, the nearest Sunday to Epiphany on 6 January, we celebrate the arrival of the Wise Men. Epiphany means the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles, as represented by the Magi.
|
|
Epiphany is also the end of the twelve days of Christmastide.
|
|

In the Anglican and UK tradition, we take down our Christmas decorations at Epiphany to signal the end of Christmastide, but in France and in the Roman Catholic tradition, the Christmas season continues until Candlemas on 2 February.
