A Service of Holy Communion

Palm Sunday
Everyone is welcome
This Sunday the clocks go forward, and summertime begins.
We saw the first day of spring last week, even if the weather doesn't feel very springlike at the moment.
Don't be late for the service on Sunday!!!

Saturday 28 March is Earth Hour 2026

You are invited to turn off your lights for an hour between 20:30 and 21:30. The town of Lille will be turning off lights in major city buildings.
This of course is symbolic, but we can all help by trying to reduce our energy usage.

For Easter, we'd love to decorate the church with flowers. But we know that not everyone is able to bring fresh flowers, so why not bring a photo, a magazine cutting, a drawing or painting, a paper flower ... let your imagination run riot!
Next Friday we'll share a few ideas to inspire you in good time for the service on Easter Sunday.

Dame Sarah Mullally enthroned as Archbishop of Canterbury

On Wednesday 25 March, the new Archbishop was enthroned at a service at Canterbury Cathedral.
We hope to be able to share with you a link to the recording of the service when it is available.
Meanwhile, we share thoughts and prayers with her and for her ministry.
We are delighted to share with you all this message from the Catholic Diocese in Lille.
Please note:
The lille "Urban Trail" race takes place on Saturday 4 April. This means that the town will be installing some concrete blocks along the route, and some of the parking places near the church will be blocked off between 30 March and 10 April. The roads remain open, except of course during the race.
Our outreach association, the Solidarité Anglicane de Lille, held its annual meeting on 23 March. We'll publish a summary on the website next week.
The General Synod of the Church of England met in February. You can read a report of their discussions and decisions below. Our Diocese is represented by both lay and clergy members.

Thank you to everyone who supports Christ Church Lille, in whatever way. Of course, bills have to be paid, so regular contributions are vital, but we also value your help in the life of the church.
Your support is especially valued during this time of interregnum (in other words, while we don't have a permanent chaplain). And sincere thanks go to the Reverend Elisabeth Dean for travelling up from Paris most Sundays, rain or shine.
So please continue your giving, and your volunteering, it is much appreciated.
