Electoral Roll

Electoral Roll

Why be on the electoral roll? What’s the point?

You are always welcome to Christ Church whether or not you are on the Electoral Roll. But if you want to take part in the Annual General Meeting, vote, maybe become a Council Member, a Churchwarden or a Lay Synod Representative, you need to be on the roll.

What will happen if I’m not on the electoral roll?

Nothing! It’s entirely up to you. But you won’t be able to vote at the AGM, for example.

Who can be on the roll and who can’t?

You will find the full details on the Electoral Roll form, but in brief:

  • Over 18
  • A regular worshipper for the last 6 months (and who is going to be around for a while, at the very least until after the AGM)
  • Members of the Church of England, or a church in communion

What do I have to do?

First check whether you are already on the Electoral Roll. The list is pinned up in church a month before the Annual General Meeting, but if you are not sure, you can send a message to electoralroll@christchurchlille.fr and check at any time.

If you are not on the roll and you would like to be, here’s what to do:

  • Download the form (if you click the link, it will download a copy to your computer), or pick one up in church
  • Read the notes and the privacy information on the form
  • Complete the form and sign it
  • Hand the form to the Chaplain or one of the church officers.
  • If you like, you can complete the form online. Save a copy as “your name” ER form and then send it to electoralroll@christchurchlille.fr
  • We accept electronic signatures as long as they come from a personal email address.
  • You can also scan the form and send it to the same email address.

More information about how we use your data on this page.

Copies of all the forms can be found on our Document Library page.

Our AGM page is here. Can’t be there? You’ll find a Proxy Voting form, and forms to apply to become a church officer on our Document Library page

If you have signed up to our newsletter, you will get updates about the AGM too.
