Welcome back to Christ Church; I hope that you had the opportunity to relax and take life gently after these long months of the pandemic. September sees the start of the new academic year and also new beginnings here at Christ Church.
Our life together is always centred around our life as disciples of Christ, learning, growing, serving together. I repeat the word ‘together’ as it is together that we live and learn, and together that we pray to discern the way God is leading our church into the future.
How to be God’s church today
Almost all our activities came to a halt at the time of the first lockdown in March 2020. It has been, and still is, a work of discernment on what to leave behind with gratitude for what it brought us but more importantly, to take the time to ask God how we are to be his church today. We are in a time where we can allow ourselves to build on what we have already and look forward in hope to the signs of new growth. Keep us all in your prayers.
Over the coming months you will see that there are opportunities to participate in the life of our community. My prayer and hope is that you will bring your gifts and talents to the service of God and neighbour in a new way.
I am excited to be able to tell you that Sunday Club (4 – 11 but not exclusively) restarts on 5 September. Daniel and his helpers are looking forward to welcoming our children for activities during the morning service.
The full schedule of Sunday Club dates to 31 December and more information on all our activities is available as always on our website.
I’m looking forward to seeing you and catching up!
