If you’re the type that grows fruit and vegetables in an allotment, garden, balcony or windowsill, then you’ll know that mother nature sometimes delivers more than you can use at one time. So we have a plea. Rather than give the extra produce to the neighbours, put it in the new Urban Market that we’re launching at the church.
Every Wednesday we would like to offer a fruit and vegetable stall alongside the morning Café. The fruit, vegetables and herbs will be free – our gift to visitors – but we need a regular supply. We’re guessing that you’re already planning the spring sowing and planting, so can we ask for an extra row of beans; a couple of extra tomato plants; a few pots of basil or rosemary – whatever works for you.
We’ll then need volunteers to man the stall on Wednesday mornings and, if you’re also a demon barista (push button on coffee machine) you can help there too! All we are asking from you is to commit to one Wednesday a month, 09:30 – 12 noon.
We’ll supply instructions and a planting list in the hope that later in the year, we can being yet another type of life into the church.
