This stained glass window is in a church in Belfast, and is dated 1870 (the year Christ Church Lille was consecrated, so you might recognise the style).

It shows Simeon when Jesus was presented in the Temple. You can read this well-known Gospel reading at this link

It is also known as Candlemas and is associated with Jesus as the light.

Sunday Club
There will be Sunday Club this Sunday morning at 10:30, so do bring your children along. They'll be finding out about how Jesus called his first disciples.

Whether they can be with us on Sunday or not, here's the link to this week's children's activity sheet: Home Sweet Home

There is a service of Holy Communion every week on Sunday at 10:30 am

For those of us in France, we also associate Candlemas on 2 February with pancakes, but the history of this link is a bit confused. You can enjoy a pancake or two on Tuesday, and maybe look forward also to Shrove Tuesday on 1 March, where the English tradition uses up milk and eggs by making pancakes before the start of Lent.

We are entirely self-funded and we have cut back our expenses as much as possible; but we still need a regular income.
|
We're grateful to everyone who continues to support the church and its work, which goes beyond weekly services. Thank you!
|
|
If you're not already a regular giver, please consider whether you can give a little each month. Small amounts are just as welcome as large ones, really!
