Christ Church Lille newsletter 3 June 2022

Holiday weekends, half-term, Pentecost (or Whitsun, it's the same), Jubilee, baptisms - so many things happening at the moment. Thank you for reading our weekly update, and we look forward to welcoming you to church or to one of our video services.
|
|
As a Platinum Jubilee doesn't come round very often, there are two bonus videos we are sharing with you this week.
|
|
|
The first video is a Jubilee tribute, a lovely film following Queen Elizabeth from childhood through to today.
|
|
And just for fun, one of my personal favourites is from 2012, the year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and also the Olympics in London. Along with 007, the Queen played a very special role in the opening ceremony (I won't spoil the surprise if you haven't seen it, but a helicopter is involved ...). Celebrate with us at Pentecost
|
Join us to celebrate Pentecost on Sunday 5 June. We will also be celebrating HM Queen's Platinum Jubilee (read more at this link) and the service will be followed by a celebration drink and cake.
|
|
On that day, we will welcome two new children into our Christ Church family so the third celebration will be a service of baptism.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We told you in a previous letter that May was a special month, and this initiative continues until mid June.
Debbie Flach, our chaplain, has written to about 140 people, explaining about our Gift Month, and if you haven't already seen this message, you can find it here:

Warm thanks to everyone who has already sent a donation, large or small, it's very much appreciated.

Sacred Space
|
Following the sermon series on Sacred Space, you told us what you thought that meant for Christ Church.
|
|
We've analysed and sorted all your answers and lots of ideas came up. But now we need people to lead on activities, or at least undertake to take part!
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Our video services are popular, and there will be a link to this Sunday's service on the website.

|
We are entirely self-funded and we have cut back our expenses as much as possible; but we still need a regular income.
|
|
We're grateful to everyone who continues to support the church and its work, which goes beyond weekly services. Thank you!
