Creationtide and Harvest

food bank
Dear reader
With apologies, this information should have gone in last week's newsletter so it's rather short notice, but there's still time!
If you are able to, can you bring some non-perishable food items on Sunday 2 October, so that we can celebrate the Harvest? All these will then be donated to the FoodBank run by our friends at the Protestant church.
Cans, bottles, rice, pasta, beans, lentils ... all will be very welcome. Thank you in advance for contributing.
Our church lunch after the morning service on 9 October will have a sustainability theme (read more below) but we would also really like you to read more about the Eco-Church movement, and what we are trying to do.

Church Lunch

There will be a church lunch on Sunday 9 October, following the morning service. On our theme of sustainability, this will be a simple meal but still a good occasion to come together over a shared meal.
Please contact churchoffice@christchurchlille if you'd like to take part.

Eco Church

What is an Eco-Church? What does that imply?
- Read more on this special web page
And check out our handy tips:
- Regrowing vegetables
- Why tin cans are wonderful *
* If you can bring us some washed tins, large ones are great but standard size ones too, we will be giving out some seeds for people to grow something on the windowsill. Thanks!

Prayers for Ukraine

Please don't forget that this conflict is ongoing and your prayers are still needed. Prayers and other resources are available on the Diocesan website
We are entirely self-funded and we have cut back our expenses as much as possible; but we still need a regular income.
Our income is currently about €1000 per month less than our outgoings.
We're grateful to everyone who continues to support the church and its work, which goes beyond weekly services. Thank you!

If you're not already a regular giver, please consider whether you can give a little each month. Small amounts are just as welcome as large ones, really!
It's easy to give, here's a link to our "Giving" page
