Christ Church Lille Newsletter 6 October 2023

Sunday 8 October 10:30 A service of Holy Communion
It's the 18th Sunday after Trinity
This Sunday there will be a focus on mental health: see below for more information.
And good news: Sunday Club is starting again; they'll be talking about creation. sundayclub@christchurchlille.fr

Last Sunday it was wonderful to welcome so many people both to the morning service and to the church lunch which followed.
Another lunch is planned for November, we'll confirm the date as soon as possible.

Did you know that 10 October is World Mental Health Day?
It's an opportunity to improve knowledge, raise awareness and drive actions that promote and protect everyone’s mental health.
You can read more about it on the World Health Organisation website, here's the link:

8 October we come to the end of this year's season of Creationtide but we don't stop in our efforts to protect our world.
A Rocha is the Christian organisation which is working to help people take care of creation.
You can find out about their work, which goes on around the world, at this link.
https://arocha.org/en/

They also organise gold, silver and bronze awards for churches who are signed up to "Eco-church".
As one of the Dioceses of the Church of England, we can participate in this project, read more here:https://arocha.org/en/theology-churches/eco-church/

In France, a partner organisation "Eglise Verte" brings together catholic, protestant, orthodox and evangelical churches and others

We are still seeking a Local Environment Officer to help us here in Lille. Could that be you? Could you promote our caring for creation agenda? Help us to reduce our carbon footprint?
If you are interested, please get in touch churchoffice@christchurchlille.fr
🎤 Bishop Robert preached a sermon recently, as part of the series of services coming from churches around the Diocese in Europe broadcast on BBC Radio 4.

Prayers for Ukraine

Please remember to pray for all affected by this conflict.
We are entirely self-funded and we have cut back our expenses as much as possible; but we still need a regular income.
We're grateful to everyone who continues to support the church and its work, which goes beyond weekly services.
