Sunday 21 June

The Third Sunday of Trinity

10:30 a service of Holy Communion, led by the the Reverend Elisabeth Dean
Thank you to everyone who uses the digital service sheet available here 🔗— it’s easy to view on your phone and helps us save a little paper along the way. Thank you for supporting a greener approach! (You can of course print a copy if you prefer).
This week's Gospel reading is from Matthew chapter 10.
Another opportunity to share this wonderful Gospel hymn written in 1905, sung here by Jennifer Hudson.

Huge thanks to Reverend Elisabeth, we are so grateful for her continued service to us here in Lille. She faithfully travels from Paris nearly every Sunday, and still has a smile and a kind word for everyone. She will be taking a well-earned break during July and August, so please take a moment to say thank you, and happy holidays before she leaves on 28 June.
During July and August, please welcome Reverend Gary Wilton and his wife Gillian, see below.

Services upcoming

28 June: Holy Communion led by Reverend Elisabeth Dean
5 July: Morning Prayer, Reverend Gary Wilton will be the preacher
12 - 19 - 26 July: Holy Communion led by Reverend Gary Wilton

For now, we are still meeting in the aumônerie opposite. The address is 1 rue Watteau and here's a map.
As mentioned it's just over the road from the big blue door.
Thank you to everyone who helps set up the aumônerie for worship; please lend a hand if you can.

Welcome Reverend Canon Dr Gary Wilton

Gary Wilton has served in Brussels and Dinard and has been a member of the Council of ICS. He is married to Gillian and they have two grown up sons. Gary recently retired from his roles as Dean of Formation for Church Army and a Teacher Fellow at Durham University. His wife Gillian is also ordained and has just retired from being the vicar of two rural parishes in North Hampshire. They now live in South Hampshire, between the New Forest and the Sea. He loves wine, cheese, tomato ketchup and Yorkshire Tea. (Wine and cheese no problem Gary, but Yorkshire tea will be a bit more difficult ...)

Meet the church

As we keep saying, the church is the people, not the building ...
This week's clip is now on our FB page: see who likes CCL!

Fancy a picnic?

As this is an informal event, not an officially organised lunch, could you be a contact person for this? It would involve giving your contact details and helping visitors to join in if they wish. Please let me know, thanks.
The JB LeBas park is just down the road, where there are play areas and a court for pétanque if you feel so inclined!
If you'd like to join in, bring a snack/a sandwich/a picnic, and some water. Maybe you can bring something to share too for unexpected guests?

Reminder
There are roadworks happening on the RN 356 (Périphérique Est) this summer; they started on 8 June and will continue to the end of July.
If you use this road to come into church, please check the details of closures on the website
Delighted to share the next in our revised and updated children's worksheets; please take a look; created for our younger members doesn't mean there's nothing to say to adults ...

Fire Fund

We have been so happy to see how many people want to help, and are thinking of us. The donations are very much appreciated as we try to negotiate the path between insurance and excesses, but the knowledge that people are there for us is the best value. Thank you!
There is absolutely no obligation to contribute to the platform’s running costs, it’s entirely optional. You need to either move the slider to Zero, or untick - depending on whether you are reading in French or English, the layout is not the same.
