Christ Church Lille Newsletter 7 July 2023

Summer is a time for rest, we hope you all can find a space for relaxation. Read on for ideas for books, podcasts and video for yourself and summer reading for children too.
This week's Gospel reading is from Matthew chapter 11 and includes these verses:
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Some of you, like your editor, will inevitably be reminded of Handel's Messiah ...

It's the fifth Sunday after Trinity
This will be Canon Debbie's last Sunday in Lille before she takes a well-earned summer break. We'll be welcoming the Reverend Elisabeth Dean back to Lille next week.

Generous Living

There is still time to bring back your Generous Living leaflet to church. If you didn't receive one, you can find it on our website at this link.
Thank you! (Don't hesitate to ask the chaplain if you are not sure).

Prayers for Ukraine

Please remember to pray for all affected by this conflict.
We are entirely self-funded and we have cut back our expenses as much as possible; but we still need a regular income.
We're grateful to everyone who continues to support the church and its work, which goes beyond weekly services.
