On Tuesday 1 July, we were delighted to welcome members of the Maronite church, based in Marcq en Baroeul, Mons en Baroeul and Villeneuve d’Ascq.
They visited the church, and learnt something of the history of the Anglican church in Lille and ended their visit with tea, cucumber sandwiches and cakes in the church hall. We were able to fulfil our hospitality mission once again.
It was a real joy to meet and talk and also to find ecumenical links: the Maronites are Oriental Catholics, in full communion the Roman Catholic church; it is their rite which is different. They were pleased to hear about our work with French ARC and also with our Eglise Réformée friends.
