Towards the end of April in 2026, there was a fire in the church. It was discovered on a Monday morning and we are so grateful to the Fire Service, and also to the neighbour who spotted it and called them out. It was an accident, no question of criminal damage.
We have been working closely with the Town Hall, who own the building, but these things take time and at the time of writing (1 October 2026) we are still not able to access the church building.
We have been posting a few updates, and you can find these here.
For the moment, we are unable to plan any events in the church; we’ll let you know as soon as we have some positive news to share.
- Thank you to our Catholic friends for letting us use the aumônerie across the road for our Sunday morning services.
- Thank you to our Protestant friends for their support, and for letting us use their church for the installation and licensing of our new chaplain, Reverend Vivian Sockett
